OUR FAITH
At Holy Cross we believe that it is through the gift of God’s Grace that we are saved. The people of Holy Cross Lutheran Church trust in the living hope of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We passionately worship God, follow Jesus, and live in the Spirit in a way that brings the Bible to life today while honoring our Lutheran heritage.
At the core of Holy Cross worship is the Gospel. In Ephesians 2, Paul writes that “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”
OUR WORSHIP
Holy Cross is a congregation that loves to worship God through music. Our services begin and end with vibrant spirit filled songs l Our Pastor J. David Knecht, shares a Bible based sermon followed by a sharing of prayers, passing of peace and honoring the Lord’s Prayer. Each Sunday, regardless of how you classify yourself or the world classifies you we offer Holy Communion to all those who attend.
OUR COMMUNITY
During our Sunday Service, we provide a children’s ministry. Following our Sunday service we celebrate our week together as a community through coffee fellowship time. James challenges us as Christians to “show our faith through our works.” Holy Cross shows our faith through our work with the Holy Cross Food Ministry, The Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless and Springfield HOPE.
