Dear Members and friends of Holy Cross, It has been great to discuss with folks this month the possibility of sharing our space with Lutheran Social Ministries in the future.  We have now had three opportunities to discuss and get feedback from you on the opportunity we may have to rent the “new” space to LSM to run a program known as PACE for Seniors in Union County. As we have discussed at these meetings, if this comes to pass it would result in the Congregation moving back to the “old” space for worship on Sunday, along with using that space for Sunday school and ministry opportunities such as weekly bible studies, fellowship and ...

Property Action Team Update

Here are the Property Action Team events of the month: We changed the fluid master valve in the nursery school toilet. Four halogen lights were out in the sanctuary ceiling and were replaced with LED’s. A banner sign post was replaced in the front yard. We replaced 6 batteries in the emergency light boxes, in preparation for fire inspection. The trip handle in the men's room was repaired. After the snow storm, the vents for the exhaust fans were dug out. Two lights were replaced in the church office. The two timers were adjusted for daylight savings time. The batteries were replaced in the nursery school's thermostat. ...

Nursery School Update

This month was filled with many visitors and celebrations! First, we celebrated Dr. Seuss week at the beginning of the month with Chief John Cook from the Springfield Police Department. Chief Cook came to the nursery school and read a Dr. Seuss story to the children on Dr. Seuss’s birthday. The children also received a special junior chief badge from Chief Cook and in turn the children showed him their silly hats for crazy hat day. A special thank you to Chief Cook for taking time out of his busy schedule to spend time with us.
